September – A Month of New Beginnings

The month of September always signals a fresh start.

No matter how long I’ve actually been removed from “going back to school”, I still get the jitters as Labour Day weekend washes away.

This year my jitters were not just a memory, they were the real deal !

I’m so excited to officially be a part of Conestoga College! They welcomed me as faculty this semester leading their “On-Camera Performance” class.

Week one was a success ! Was great to meet my 60 students. I felt energy and passion from so many of them and I’m excited to watch them grow.

The course I am leading can be very uncomfortable! Speaking in front of crowds or to a camera is not natural for everyone. It’s something people fear.

I hope to creative a positive classroom where my students want to learn, improve and trust that they are in the right hands !

I plan on bringing all my experiences to them. College, university, TV, reporting, social media – we have a ton to cover !

I’m really excited that this year I am embarking on a career goal I’ve always set for myself, that’s to teach, inspire and motivate !

Also on a programming note- I am still hosting Toronto’s morning show on The Weather Network, slight change , now Wednesday to Friday. In addition I’ll also be joining you on The Weather Network and CBC each weekend during the afternoon and evening !

Looking forward to this change and working on some new shows and with lots of great people.

Hope everyone’s “new year” is off to a great start !
