I love being in the kitchen ! But truthfully, I’m not the best with desserts.
So I’m always on the hunt for something that looks impressive – yet is super easy to make.
Let me introduce you to this years top picks!
No Bake Peppermint Fudge
This was a new one for me and I was pleased with the turnout. I was intrigued after seeing this in a quick Facebook video so I thought I would give it a try.
It was super easy! You need chocolate chips (white and dark) candy canes, peppermint extract and sweetened condensed milk.
After some melting and mixing you layer the two flavours top with crushed candy canes and set in the fridge. Full recipe here : https://www.livewellbakeoften.com/peppermint-fudge-and-a-giveaway/
My fiancĂ© said these were the best dessert I’ve ever made. And he’s tough to please !
Melt in Your Mouth Shortbread
I’ve never made shortbread before ! After this recipe I’ll be making it every year. Wow, this was delicious and so easy. Best part – only 3 ingredients.
Icing sugar, butter and flour.
These turned out gorgeous and I topped with a rosebud for some chocolate.
I looked at a bunch of recipes online and went with: 1 cup butter, 1 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup icing sugar. Beat all ingredients together with electric blender. At first it’s crumbly… after a few minutes it’s a smooth buttery batter. Baked at 350 for 14 minutes. I then opened the oven door and let them sit for 2 more minutes. While they are still warm top with chocolate so it melts and sticks.
My mom will love these ! So they make me happy.
Christmas Crack
You can never go wrong with this recipe ! It’s so easy and incredibly delicious. It surprises everyone when they find out its saltine crackers !
You basically make a caramel sauce from butter and brown sugar, then bake it over the crackers. Top with chocolate and you’ve got magic ! I topped with crushed Christmas smarties for some colour.

I was most impressed with the cookies as I had never attempted this before ! But my old faithful will forever be the crack.
What are you baking this year ?
Hope your home is warm and filled with love this Christmas.
